Bangladesh is rapidly becoming a role model for different aspect of health care development among developing countries. It is not possible for a government alone to develop health manpower to cater the increasingly complex, diverse and expensive public health care needs of a developing country like Bangladesh. In addition to Government Medical Colleges, Private Medical Colleges in Bangladesh are performing very significant role in producing skilled medical health professionals and providing specialized health care facilities at reasonable cost to ailing people of the country.

To develop a new Medical College, location is a significant factor. Sylhet is considered as Religious Capital of Bangladesh as well as a favored tourist attractive from national and international perspective. It is blessed with good communication by road, train and air from the capital city Dhaka and from all over the country. In addition to its natural beauty & religious background, Sylhet has over the years transformed itself to an "Education City" with many prestigious public and private Colleges and universities.

We have more than 160 million people. There is opportunity to improve inadequate doctor-population ratio from (1:5000), to an acceptable standard of about (1:500), by more effective involvement of private entrepreneurship. With a view to establish a new medical college & hospital in an attempt to produce expert health manpower as well as to provide a low cost but optimum health care without compromising quality, a group of noble dreamers got together by 2008 under the banner of Parkview Health Care Pvt. Ltd. & Associates of Parkview Health Care Pvt. Ltd. As a consequence, Parkview Medical College has opened its door to 1st batch of students of MBBS course from January 2014.

General Rules for Students

All students will have to attend in classes with white apron with their identity card lodged in their neck.

Class attendance minimum 75% (Seventy percent) mandatory to appear in College and University Examination. Student found absent from classes for a continuous period of one month without satisfactory reasons or prior permission, shall loose college studentship. A student may get readmission by paying re-admission fee.

Pasting of posters on the walls of the college and the hospital building and or hanging of posters in the campus without permission from the college authority will be considered punishable.

Absence from classes individually or in group or in mass without prior information / valid reasons are punishable by imposition of daily fine by academic council. Guardians will be informed of such acts.

Students will state their problems/ grievances/inconveniences to their teacher guide. The guide will solve the problems of the students himself / herself or will refer them to principal.

Every student shall procure all the prescribed text books, dissecting instruments, medical equipment etc. The college will not supply these to the students. Students are encouraged to use college library facilities where extended spectrum of books on curriculum based subjects are available.

Residential students must have to follow the "Hostel rules and regulations" of the college. Violation of rule or rules may result in cancellation of hostel seat and/or other punitive action.

Eligibility for foreign students :

Foreign student to admit in the MBBS course, they must be passed the SSC/SLC/O-level/GCSE or equivalent examination with minimum 5 subjects and average mark minimum GPA-3.00. Also, pass in HSC/A-level/12- grade or equivalent examination with Biology, Chemistry & Physics average mark minimum GPA 3.00 but Minimum aggregate GPA in SSC/SL-level/GCSE and HSC/A- 12 grade or equivalent examination: 7.00 (seven) and Biology must be pass with GPA 3.50

All foreign students must be applying to the Director General of Health Service of Government of Bangladesh for equivalence certificate through the Bangladesh Embassy. All certificates/mark sheets/others certificate and passport photocopy are attested by the respected country’s Education Board or Ministry of Education and authenticate by respective country Foreign Minister.

The government of Bangladesh sets the rules and procedures of admission of foreign students to all public and private medical colleges within its territory. Following are the steps that you need take if you want to get admitted into Private & Government Medical Colleges.

1. If you have the passport of a country having diplomatic relationship with Bangladesh you can apply for admission in MBBS course (Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery) in one of the public or private Medical Colleges in Bangladesh.
2. You must have 12 years of schooling, and your grades must have to be matched (Equivalency) with the Bangladeshi counterpart- SSC (Secondary School Certificate) & HSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate).
3. Your eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS course:

a. O-level (Equivalent to SSC) certificate: Minimum 5 subjects
b. A-level (Equivalent to HSC) Certificate: Must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
c. USA 12 grade completion certificate: Must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
d. Minimum GPA (After equivalency with SSC & HSC)= 7 (seven)
e. Minimum GPA in Biology= 3.5

4. You have to undertake the following steps if you decided to get admitted into BMC.

a. Get the photocopies of the following documents attested from the foreign ministry of your country.

i. School/College graduation certificates
ii. Mark/grade sheet
iii. School leaving certificate (Testimonial)
iv. Copy of Passport
v. Two passport size photographs of applicant

b. Download ‘MBBS admission form’ from the website of Bangladesh Foreign Ministry(www. mofa.gov.bd) and fill it up. You must mention your medical college of choice.

c. Pay $60 (Subject to change) in any bank of your country in favor of DGHS and get the receipt. (For more info. visit www.dghs.gov.org)

d. Deposit your attested documents, bank receipt and filled admission form to Bangladesh Embassy of your country for processing of Grade Equivalence and permission from Government of Bangladesh. You can do this job by yourself or by an Authorized Official Representatives.
